Barnbrook is taking part in a street based exhibition ‘The Modern Art of Conversation’ in Newcastle City Centre. The event takes place during Design Event North East, from 21-31 October. Our piece, ‘Goodbye’ is inspired by the quotes from The Art of Conversation: ‘a monologue is not a conversation’ and ‘to plant a suggestion is a real test of conversational skill’. In an effort to avoid the usual one-way relationship between billboard and public our design encourages interaction – a dialogue.
The design can be viewed from different perspectives, encouraging the reader to decipher a selection of hidden words exploring the etymology and modern interpretations of the word ‘Goodbye’ Our billboard is located next to the Newcastle City Library up until 31st October.
