Barnbrook is exhibiting new work specially created for the Firenze Fast Forward Festival in Florence this weekend. We were invited to produce a billboard that will be posted in the inner square of the former Florentine prison Le Murate on the issue ‘More. Freedom of expression’. Our piece, comprises of three quotes from three great thinkers: “Language is legislation, speech is its code” Roland Barthes, “Sooner or later, everything turns into television” J.G Ballard, “Only psychos and shamans create their own reality” Terence McKenna. Created in Processing, it confronts the relationship between reality, subversion and truth.
