Branding for a cultural organisation situated at the top of Roppongi Hills in Tokyo. It is made up of 5 subsections: Mori Art Museum – a contemporary art museum, Tokyo City View – an observation gallery, Roppongi Hills Club – a group of clubs & restaurants, Tokyo Sky Deck – a conference centre and Roppongi Academy Hills – a business & arts school. The task was to create separate logos that worked on their own that could also be combined to make up the main Mori Art Center Logo.
The concept of ‘spectrum’ (spectrum of viewpoints, lightwaves, colour spectrum) was central to the identity. Each section was assigned a waveform that overlap in the main logo to show an organisation of diverse activities, working together in harmony. We also created a custom typeface, which is used throughout the centre for all printed, environmental and navigational graphics.
